With the latest technologies, ultra-fast internet, incredible venue services and inspiring hospitality, we make seamless global event delivery effortless.About the RoleCliftons is looking to hire a hands-on, client-focussed IT / Events Technical Manager for our two Sydney CBD based venues. Your responsibilities will include planning, coordinating, advising and executing the primarily technical aspects of events, exams, room setups and virtual events while supporting the local Venue Manager with the daily operation of the venue and assisting clients and instructors with their requests during their events to ensure a remarkable experience is brought to life. As you could imagine in the current times, virtual events and web conferencing have significantly increased, so experience in video production: filming, lighting, sound etc will be highly regarded, however this is primarily an IT based role.This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront as we pivot our business model in the changing business events industry. We have a collaborative working environment and you will be supported by an experienced Head Office IT and Operations team.On a day-to-day level, the role will encompass: Project Management - Planning and coordinating the technical side of large event setups including both technical and non-technical equipmentSupporting clients with their technical requirements for initial setup and during events E.g. Internet (Wired & Wireless), application installation and support, audio requirements and AV requests, video conferencing etc.Providing technical expertise to support the Venue Manager and Sales in conducting client site inspections and technical toursManaging your local IT support teamCollaborate with others to continually improve processes and documentation and to explore new technologiesManaging and maintaining all IT hardware within the venueUsing network imaging software (Norton Ghost) to build training environments for PC based events / examsTroubleshooting hardware, software and basic network issues for both clients and other staffWhat you will bringAs the ideal candidate you will be able to use your minimum 5+ years IT / technical / systems admin or network admin experience and knowledge to develop solutions for challenges that may arise and find the best way, using existing and possibly new products, to deliver remarkable experiences for our clients.Technical Skills and Experience:Client / event project management skills & experience with the ability to pivot to changing project briefs – You will need to be agile!Strong understanding of networking principles including – TCP/IP, DHCP, VLANS etcProven experience with all Windows operating systems, servers etcExperience with video conferencing across multiple platforms with a solid understanding of the underlying technologiesHave a solid understanding of audio-visual fundamentals and technologiesSetting up audio systems (PA’s & basic mixing boards)Connecting video equipment (data projectors, large screens etc)Video (film) and lighting experience would be an advantageExperience with video editing and webcasting is desirablePersonal attributes:Excellent communications skills – with the ability to communicate technical information in an easy- to-understand way to non-technical stakeholdersStrong customer focus with a positive and proactive approach to client serviceProven problem solving and troubleshooting skillsAbility to remain calm under pressure and to make intelligent and effective decisionsA strong attention to detailExcellent time management and the ability to prioritise your own and your team's workload and efficiently get through a large volume of tasksBe physically fit and able to perform corporate event room setups Why join us?
